Our Mission

Tremont is a neighborhood where people contribute. They take responsibility and show their appreciation by participating — restaurants, small business owners, gardens, volunteers, organizers, artists, and people who say hello. Caring for Lemko Hall and the Lemko Art Station is the way we show our appreciation to our neighbors and community.

The Service Station

The earliest images we can find of the Lemko Art Station show a gas station called Aviation Gas, its sign crowned with a large winged horse. Ownership has passed through many hands since, and neighbors who have lived here since childhood each carry their own stories of the place.

Today, Lemko Hall owns the property. We maintain it for resident parking and as a visual feature of the neighborhood — a canvas where the artists decide what to create.
